When you think of top vacation destinations, the first places that likely come to mind are sunny beach bungalows or wooded mountain chalets. Yet according to HomeAway.com, this year people are searching for vacation rentals in Hurricane, Utah.

While there's no denying the location of Hurricane is prime for visitors to see Zion National Park, it might come as a surprise to hear that this small town topped HomeAway.com's list for up-and-coming vacation destinations for 2017.

Unlike the city of St. George's strict vacation rental policies (See my most recent article regarding vacation rentals in St. George at this link: http://www.stgeorgeproperty.com/short-term-vacation-rental-not-in-st-george), Hurricane's current ordinance allows short term rental properties in residential areas, but only a limited amount. Homeowners interested in turning their property into a short-term vacation rental need to fill out an application and meet certain criteria; in some cases, applicants are put on a waiting list.

With demand for rental homes in Hurricane jumping 199% from 2015 to 2016, now would be a great time to invest in a vacation rental! Check the listings on my website today to find your ideal investment property.
